The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress have won the majority of seats, according to the figures that have been released thus far. The Samrala Local Municipal Council’s ward number 12 has produced Shiromani Akali Dal as the winner. In a direct race, Tajinder Singh Teji, the party’s candidate, defeated Harpreet Singh Bedi, the Aam Aadmi Party’s closest opponent, by a margin of 112 votes. As a result, there are now three SAD councilors running in the local body election. The Congress candidate from this ward has already had his nomination papers denied.
